No Pants Day

You know I love my flash mobs. Seeing as this one was very close to home, it just might be my favorite yet. This past Sunday some brave souls ignored the freezing temperatures and participated in No Pants Day on NYC subways.

No Pants Day in NYC

Small groups took to a number of subway lines and started taking off their pants as onlookers who had no idea what was going on stared at them in disbelief.

This is Improv Everywhere‘s 9th annual No Pants Day. The event actually takes place in 43 other cities in 16 countries. Who knew? I can’t believe it’s gone on this long and I never heard about it until I saw the news Sunday night. (See below video.) I think it’s hilarious, and now I kind of want to participate. Maybe I can convince my friends to join me. Isn’t pulling crazy stunts what your 20s is all about?

Meet Shari Baldie, GRAE New York's Resident Girl About Town. In 2009 Shari created GRAE New York out of spring break boredom. Finding inspiration in everything from music and style to art and culture, GRAE New York is a digital magazine of her lifestyle and influences. When she’s not writing or being a girl about town, Shari spends her time (unsuccessfully) convincing native New Yorkers that her Westchester hometown is not “upstate." It’s an ongoing battle.
