Bunny Ears, Fashion’s Fun Accessory

As you’re reading this I’m either on my way to NYC or already pounding the city pavement looking for pieces to update my spring/summer wardrobe. One of the items not on my list, but possibly on yours this Easter is bunny ears. And I’m not talking about the ones off an Easter bunny costume either. Think avant-garde high fashion.

Madonna in bunny ears at the 2009 Met Gala

Last year Madonna caused a riot on the red carpet when she wore Louis Vuitton bunny ears to the Met Costume Gala. This year less dramatic versions are available. Here are a few of my faves.

Bunny Ears Bow Headband from Nasty Gal ($34)

So simple. So chic. Even Blair Waldorf would add these to her headband collection.

Miss Fortuna Headband from Benoît Missolin ($357.72)

This beaded number is basically an art piece. Keep telling yourself that when you pay over $300 for it.

ST3 Bunny Ears from Benoît Missolin ($145.74)

These ears are not meant for the wallflower. They’re for the person looking to make a fashion statement. (Image sitting behind someone at Easter service wearing these?)

Shari Baldie

Meet Shari Baldie, GRAE New York's Resident Girl About Town. In 2009 Shari created GRAE New York out of spring break boredom. Finding inspiration in everything from music and style to art and culture, GRAE New York is a digital magazine of her lifestyle and influences. When she’s not writing or being a girl about town, Shari spends her time (unsuccessfully) convincing native New Yorkers that her Westchester hometown is not “upstate." It’s an ongoing battle.
